New York Jets linebacker David Harris is out 2-3 weeks with a groin injury that required surgery. Harris, currently second on the team in tackles (45), will be replaced by David Bowens. He did well last week in a win over Buffalo, registering five tackles and a sack. Nevertheless, the loss of Harris will undoubtedly be a blow to New York's defense.

Commentary: There's good news for the Jets: Superb Rams running back Steven Jackson likely won't suit up against them this weekend. Jackson said it would take "something miraculous" to practice Friday. With all due respect, Kenneth Darby -- Jackson's replacement -- probably doesn't strike fear into any NFL defender. Still, stranger things have happened and 5-3 New York cannot afford to lose ground in the hotly contested AFC East, where the last-place team (Miami) is 4-4.

Fan Pulse: Fans don't think Harris' injury could have come at a worse point in the season.

Fantasy Football Commentary: Wide receivers Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery are both nice plays this week. Tread carefully with Brett Favre.

Injury Watch: TE Chris Baker has recovered from his hip injury and will be active for Sunday's game.
