The New York Jets have named Vinny Testaverde their starter for Sunday's home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last week, Testaverde watched from the sidelines as Brooks Bollinger and company could only muster 3 points in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Coach Herm Edwards feels that Testaverde is familiar with the offense and can make more plays in the passing game than Bollinger. He also feels that Testaverde puts the New York Jets in a better position to win the game.

It is important to note that the 41 year-old signal caller has not played a down of football since last year when he finished out the season playing for the Dallas Cowboys.
