The Jets re-signed defensive tackle Josh Evans, tight end Chris Baker, and 5 other players.

Evans is a 10 year veteran out of University of Alabama-Birmingham. He has played in 94 games with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans (1995-2001) and the Jets. The 6'3", 280 lbs. DT has 171 tackles, 21.5 sacks, 6 passes deflected, 2 forced fumbles, and 5 fumble recoveries.

The 6'3", 258 lbs. Baker had 18 receptions for 182 yards and 4 TDs in 2004. The Michigan State product has played 3 years for the Jets, starting only 1 of the 43 games he's played. Baker should see increased playing time in 2005 now that former starter Anthony Becht is no longer on the roster.

The team also brought back linebacker Kenyatta Wright, wide receiver Jonathan Carter, guard/center Jonathan Goodwin, guard Dave Yovanovits and safety Oliver Celestin.

The team also signed free agent running backs Leonard Henry and Delvin Joyce.
