Owasso High (Owasso, Okla.) offensive tackle Gavin Howard committed to Kansas on Monday for the ’09 class.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound lineman chose Lawrence over Tulsa and Oklahoma State. Joe Bob Clements was Howard’s primary.

COMMENTARY: Howard is the third offensive lineman (second tackle) to commit to Kansas, so it appears this is a need area for Mark Mangino’s program. This Jayhawk class tallies at 11 overall commitments.
