Charles Page High (Sand Springs, Okla.) offensive tackle Michael Bowie committed to Kansas State on Monday for the ’09 class.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman chose the Jayhawks over Oregon State, Tulsa and Iowa State. Tim McCarty is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: The second overall commitment for the class, Bowie joins defensive end Josh Johnson, who committed earlier this month. Coach Ron Prince must step up the recruiting if he’s going to compete in the Big XII North, especially with the rise of Kansas and Missouri.
