Head Coach Rich Brooks leads his Kentucky Wildcats into Columbia, South Carolina for a matchup with Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks on Saturday. The Wildcats spent this off week preparing for a banged up South Carolina squad. Spurrier might have to run his offense without starting QB Blake Mitchell for a second straight week.

The young UK squad showed promise at times against Florida two Saturday's ago, shutting out the Gators in the second half, 21-0. If Andre Woodson can keep the ball in his hands and out of the defense's, he will have a good day. Woodson has a 133.1 passing efficiency rating, pretty good for a banged up UK offense. The Wildcat defense will take on a Spurrier offense that has failed to score more than 15 points against an SEC opponent this season.

Spurrier might have to stray away from his traditional offense, to a more “on the ground" approach. Expect running back Mike Davis to get some carries, but he is average at best. QB Antonio Heffner has run for 63 yards and a score, but South Carolina's running game won't be enough against the Wildcat defense. The Gamecocks have the home field advantage, but UK has some momentum coming off a semi-impressive showing against Florida. Expect Kentucky to capitalize on a weak South Carolina offense.

Prediction: Kentucky 24 South Carolina 14
