Jeff Garcia has reunited with Steve Mariucci, after agreeing to a contract with the Detroit Lions. Garcia was released earlier this month by the Cleveland Browns after playing just 1 season of a 5 year, $25 million contract. He played in 11 games, completing 144 of 252 passes for 1,731 yards, 10 TDs and 9 INTs. He had a career-worst passer rating of 76.7.

A 3-time Pro Bowler with the San Francisco 49ers, Garcia enjoyed his best seasons under Mariucci with the Niners. The 35 year-old passed for 84 TDs with 32 INTs from 2000-02.

Garcia would back up Joey Harrington in Detroit. The elder QB is at his best directing the West Coast offense, which the Lions just happen to run.

Harrington, the third overall pick in 2002, has disappointed the Lions with his play and had a passer rating of 77.5 last season.
