LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles kicked troubled quarterback Ryan Perrilloux off the team on Friday.

Commentary: Perrilloux “didn’t fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete,” said Miles. “Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team.”

The bottom line is that Miles is speaking the truth. Despite numerous legal problems and team violations, Miles and the Tigers kept giving Perrilloux the benefit of the doubt. However, his recent positive drug test was just too much.

The timing of the decision gives Perrilloux a chance to transfer to a lower division of football by next fall.
