Fort Meyers High (Fort Meyers, Fla.) tight end Stephen Plein committed to Miami on Thursday for the ’09 class.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder chose Coral Gables over Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Central Florida, Auburn and Clemson. Tommie Robinson is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Apparently coach Randy Shannon is in need of tight ends, as Plein is the third for this class. Plein’s fellow ends are three-star athletes Billy Sanders and Cory White.
