The Miami Hurricanes were rained out of their fifth day of spring practices. The torrential rain flooded the 3 practice fields in a matter of minutes.

Head coach Larry Coker later said, "We're disappointed today because we got a lot of rain and lightning. We never get that in March in Miami, but we did today; this was like an August rain. We don't play (a game) on Saturday, so there's no need to go out and press the envelope. This would have been an important day for us. We had a lot of third down drills that we wanted to accomplish, but we'll make them up."

Coker added that the day of practice is now lost and cannot be made up prior to the April 9 spring game.

On Thursday March 24th, the Hurricanes will practice at 6:00 pm ET at Traz Powell Stadium on the North Campus of Miami-Dade College. The practice is open to the public. The stadium is located at 11380 NW 27th Avenue.

It'll be a practice and we'll have some scrimmage involved. We're there to move our football team around a little bit," stated coach Coker. "We've invited a lot of youth league teams and high school coaches and players, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout and fans can watch us play."
