Former Oklahoma backup quarterback Keith Nichol says that he is transferring to Michigan State.

Commentary: Funny how things happen. Out of high school, Nichol originally gave his verbal commitment to the Spartans before changing his mind when former head coach John L. Smith was fired. However, with Sam Bradford firmly entrenched as the Sooners' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future, Nichol is now saying that he wants to go to the team that he committed to initially.

Nichol will have to sit out this season. After that, he'll have three years of eligibility left.
