Ole Miss is making waves: On Saturday, the Rebels smoked the LSU Tigers 31-13. So Houston Nutt leaves Arkansas under a lot of heat, arrives in Oxford, and manages to score victories over the Florida Gators and LSU in his first season at the helm.

Talk about a Cinderella story.

Alabama vs. Florida: Well, the SEC Championship is now locked. We’re talking about Alabama-Florida for the right to play in a BCS game. Heck, if Alabama can hold off Auburn in the Iron Bowl and the Gators can upend Bobby Bowden’s FSU bunch, this game will be for much more than just a BCS bowl bid.

It will be for a national title shot.

Let’s hear it for Vanderbilt: By defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 31-24 on Saturday, the Commodores became bowl-eligible. In case you haven’t followed SEC football much in your lifetime, that’s a phrase which isn’t uttered often.

What happens after a 56-6 loss?: Plenty of MMA fighters and boxers out there will tell you that you never know how a guy will rebound from a knockout loss. Well, the South Carolina Gamecocks sustained a knockout punch from Florida in their last game, losing by 50 points. How will they come back against instate rival Clemson this weekend?

This game will tell a lot about what Steve Spurrier still has in the tank.

Georgia's 9-2 record: No one can say that head coach Mark Richt isn’t one of the best in the nation. Further, this Bulldogs team is talented. Still, has there been a more disappointing 9-2 squad this season than Georgia?

It just goes to show you what high expectations can do.
