Josh Williams, a defensive end who signed his letter of intent with Nebraska back in February, was arrested on robbery charges. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound commit is accused of punching a man in the face and stealing $900 from him while he sat in his truck earlier this week.

Williams is a three-star prospect according to Rivals and is from Denton, Texas, which is where the alleged crime transpired. Also according to Rivals, he is the No. 12 weakside defensive end in the nation and chose Nebraska over Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky and Missouri.

No comment yet from head coach Bo Pelini or other Nebraska officials on this situation.

COMMENTARY: Add this to the ever-lengthening list of troubled players at Nebraska. Several players, most notoriously offensive lineman Andy Christensen who is up on first-degree sexual assault charges, have found themselves in heaps of serious off-field troubles since the beginning of the year. It will be interesting to see how head coach Bo Pelini handles Williams’ situation, as it involves a recruit and not an existing Husker player.
