The big news out of San Francisco 49ers camp this week is the fact that QB Tim Rattay may have a shot at winning the starting job after all. Rattay helped lead the 49ers to a comeback victory over the Oakland Raiders last weekend after relieving an ineffective Alex Smith. Smith will get the starting assignment tonight though. The San Francisco 49ers have multiple guys out on the offensive line, so the reserves will have to step it up to give the QB, whether it's Smith or Rattay, a fighting chance.

Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer will get the first 20-25 snaps before handing the ball to Bradley Van Pelt, who looked impressive in his debut last week versus the Texans. He will play most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Right now, the Denver Broncos have concerns about their depth on the offensive line, so it's been hard to get into their pass and run blocking schemes. Jerry Rice steps up to the #3 receiver role, and you'll see him line up as a slot receiver quite a bit tonight.
