There might be a bit of a quarterback controversy brewing in the windy city as the Chicago Bears beat the Indianapolis Colts 24-17. Current Bears starter Chad Hutchinson had shaky performance. He ended up 5 of 8 for 40 yards but threw two interceptions and fumbled once (the Bears recovered though). His backup, rookie Kyle Orton, continued to improve. He was 6 of 10 for 67 yards although he did fumble twice and lost one.

The Indianapolis Colts seem to be going through the motions during the preseason. They're just trying to get healthy for the regular season. Peyton Manning was 8 of 13 for 80 yards and one touchdown. Edgerrin James played sparingly gaining four yards on six carries. Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne combined for three receptions and 36 yards. The most impressive showing came from third year linebacker Gary Brackett who snagged a pair of interceptions.

Other key stats:

Chicago Bears
Adrian Peterson 14 CAR 60 YDS 1 TD
Muhsin Muhammad 3 CAR 38 YDS

Indianapolis Colts
Marvin Harrison 2 REC 26 YDS
Reggie Wayne 1 REC 12 YDS
