The St. Louis Rams will face off against the San Diego Chargers later today. Kickoff is set for 4PM at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

The San Diego Chargers will be without the services of Antonio Gates. He missed the team imposed deadline for reporting and is set to be suspended for this game, the next preseason game, and the Charger's first regular season game. However, Gates' agent says that the star tight end will report today and that the suspension might be lifted. Drew Brees will start today, but is looking over his shoulder at second year QB Philip Rivers. LaDainain Tomlinson should suit up but will likely play sparingly.

The St. Louis Rams look like an offensive juggernaut in the making. Marc Bulger, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk, and youngster Steven Jackson plan to return to the offensive glory that the Rams enjoyed just a few years ago. On defense, they will be looking for someone to step up for injured cornerback Jerametrius Butler who tore his ACL in practice this week. Youngster DeJuan Groce has the inside track at this point.
