This will be a rematch of an earlier scrimmage between these two clubs a few weeks ago, which saw quite a few skirmishes break out.

Starting quarterback Chad Pennington made his pre-season debut last week after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder during the off-season, and he was very impressive in going 9-for-10 passing with 86 yards including a 45-yards touchdown pass to Justin McCareins. This week's game will mark another debut for the New York Jets, newly signed cornerback Ty Law. Law returned to practice this week and should see limited action against the Giants.

For the New York Giants, QB Eli Manning will be held out as a precaution after hurting his elbow against the Panthers last weekend. An MRI was negative, but he is still experiencing soreness. Backup Tim Hasselbeck will start in his place and play the first three quarters, Coach Tom Coughlin will be wanting to take a good look at the guys on the offensive line, as a couple of jobs are still up for grabs.
