The Atlanta Falcons beat up on the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-10. Both starting quarterbacks looked impressive, but the Falcons first unit outscored the Jaguars 20-10 in the first half even with Michael Vick leaving after just a couple of series.

Vick ended the game completing 5 of 10 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. He also scrambled for 30 yards on four carries. The Falcons were able to run all over the Jaguars defense. The duo of Warrick Dunn and T.J. Duckett combined for 98 yards on 16 carries. Second year receiver Michael Jenkins had a big outing. He caught four passes 35 yards and two touchdowns.

Byron Leftwich completed 11 of 20 passes for a lofty 179 yards but did not connect on a touchdown pass. He did however lead the team on a 73-yard scoring drive in the second quarter that was punctuated by a 4-yard touchdown run by LaBrandon Toefield. Fred Taylor finally got some game action. He ran for 18 yards on 4 carries.

The second half was a real snooze fest. The only score was a third quarter field goal by the Falcons.
