The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Tennessee Titans 16-13 in what turned out to be field goal friendly snooze fest that lagged on into overtime. It seemed as if the game would never end. Neither team had much luck finding the endzone.

Steve McNair was a plain ineffective tonight. He was 10 of 16 for 62 yards and threw an interception. Chris Brown picked up the slack by gaining 72 yards on 11 carries. He also added two catches for 20 yards.

Tim Rattay looked steady after getting the starting nod from his head coach earlier this week. He ended up 13 of 25 for 131 yards. Kevin Barlow added 30 yards on nine carries and scampered ten yards for the team's loan touchdown of the night.

Other key stats:

Tennessee Titans
Billy Volek 13/17 140 YDS 1 TD
Courtney Roby 2 REC 60 YDS 1 TD

San Francisco 49ers
Arnaz Battle 3 REC 39 YDS
Alex Smith 5/12 55 YDS
