Seubert earns extension with Giants

Giants G Rich Seubert's career was nearly over in 2003 when he broke his leg in three places during a game against Philadelphia. Four years later, he was a starter on the Giants Super Bowl champion team, and Tuesday, he was awarded with a three-year extension.

Seubert is signed through the 2012 season, but financial terms were not immediately released.

Commentary: One of the lesser-known success stories in the league, Seubert was on the verge of hanging up the cleats in 2003. He helped the Giants average 134 yards per game on the ground en route to the Super Bowl championship.

Fantasy Football Impact: The Giants had one of the game's better rushing attacks, and Seubert was a big part of it. A lot is expected of RBs Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, and Reuben Droughns and Derrick Ward are also competing for playing time.
