Browns sign special teams ace Griffin to one-year deal

Despite a knee injury that kept him out of the last four games of 2007, Kris Griffin got a one-year contract with Cleveland.

Griffin was the Browns' special teams gunner for the first 12 games until a knee injury put him on injured-reserve for the rest of the year. He had five special teams tackles.

Commentary: Griffin was a solid contributor on a good special teams unit. Five tackles in 12 games on special teams doesn't show as much in the box scores, but it's critical in winning the field position battle.
