Despite playing Dallas on Monday night and having very little time to prepare, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 23-17.

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had a good game, hitting 22 of 33 attempts for 254-yards and two touchdowns. His backup, Seneca Wallace, also had a productive outing passing for 104-yards on 8 of 12 passing. The rushing department for the Seahawks was led by Shaun Alexander with 12 attempts for 23-yards. On the passing side, spreading the wealth would be a severe understatement. Seattle hit 13 different players for a game total of 356-yards. Leading the receiving charge was six year veteran Darrell Jackson, who caught seven passes for 99-yards and a touchdown.

With the No. 2 and 3 quarterbacks sidelined by injury, the Chiefs came into tonight's game with a huge question mark in the passing department. Trent Green and newly signed Jonathan Quinn, who had no hopes of possibly playing again, shared time passing the ball. Trent Green started the game and finished with 85-yards on 6 of 7 passes including a touchdown. Green saw limited time with the offense due to a chronic calf injury that began to bother him after the second series. Quinn, who has appeared in 17 games the past seven years, relieved Green and was 11 of 23 for 126 yards. He was sacked twice, and missed three shots from the Seattle 9-yard line in the closing seconds.

The Chiefs saw a big performance from Larry Johnson tonight. Johnson overshadowed the production of Priest Holmes, rushing for 147-yards on 9 attempts and breaking a 97-yard run for a touchdown. Priest Holmes finished with 10-yards on five attempts. Eddie Kennison led the Chiefs in receiving recording 66-yards on four receptions.

The game was led by Kansas City 14-10 at halftime. Seattle surged ahead in the third quarter by scoring ten unanswered points. In the final quarter, each team kicked a successful field goal, but it would not be enough for the Chiefs as they are now (0-3) in the preseason.
