Chargers take Hart, sign him through 2012

The San Diego Chargers came to terms with SS Clinton Hart on a five-year contract extension. Financial terms were not released, according to the San Diego Times-Union, but the paper said the deal "would not put Hart among the top-five safeties in salary."

Hart had 109 tackles and five interceptions for the AFC West champion Chargers last season. He turns 31 in July.
