Steelers restricted free agent WR Nate Washington signed his one-year tender Wednesday. He will be receive a guaranteed $1.417 million for the 2008 season.

Washington had 29 catches for 450 yards and five touchdowns last season, and has a 16.8 yards-per-catch career average over three seasons in Pittsburgh.

Commentary: Washington has the explosiveness to become one of the best third wide receiver options in the league. He drops a few more passes than he should, but makes up for that with a knack for getting open deep.

Fantasy Football Impact: Washington is third on the depth chart behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. Add in TE Heath Miller, QB Ben Roethlisberger has plenty of weapons at his disposal. Washington isn't a starter, but could be late-round option. Most likely, though, he's a spot starter picked up from waivers.
