Cardinals OLB Karlos Dansby signed his franchise-tag tender, worth a guaranteed $8.065 million, Thursday.

Dansby had 117 tackles for the Cardinals in 2007, one year after he moved from the outside to inside linebacker position. He also had 3.5 sacks, three interceptions and four forced fumbles. The Cardinals and Dansby have until July 15 to strike a long-term deal, or all of the $8.065 million goes on the team's cap for 2007.

Commentary: Dansby is quietly one of the most productive players in the league. In four seasons with Arizona, he has 20.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and seven interceptions. It would be wise for the Cardinals to shore up a deal for one of the league's top defensive players.
