Falcons special teams captain Corey McIntyre signed a one-year tender offer to stay in Atlanta on Friday.

The fullback was third on the team with eight special teams tackles in 2007, and he had a fumble recovery in Week 5 against Tennessee.

Commentary: Special teams gurus don't grab headlines very often, but their contributory value is high. Retaining McIntyre was a good move by rebuilding Atlanta.
