The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals will likely take it easy on their starters when they face off later tonight. Kickoff is set for 10 PM EST at Sun Devil Stadium.

The Denver Broncos may holdout their starters tonight. However, there is one notable exception. Defensive end Courtney Brown, who was acquired from Cleveland in the offseason but has been out since the beginning of training camp with a dislocated left elbow, should see his first game action of the preseason. On offense, both starting quarterback Jake Plummer and running back Mike Anderson will see little or no game action. Quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt and backup running backs Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne should get plenty of reps. Cornerback Champ Bailey will miss the game due to a sore hamstring.

The Arizona Cardinals on Friday will be taking a good look at the starting running back situation. Rookie J.J. Arrington is battling with former starter Marcel Shipp. This game may be the deciding factor. Quarterback Kurt Warner might be held out of the game all together. That means that backups Josh McCown and John Navarre will get plenty of snaps. Center Alex Stepanovich will miss the game due to a broken hand.
