Rookie Charlie Frye was nearly perfect but could not get into the endzone as the Cleveland Browns defeated the Chicago Bears 16-6.

The Cleveland Browns backup QB (and possibly a future starter) was 12 of 12 for 186 yards. Reuben Droughns added 60 yards on nine carries and a 1-yard touchdown. Braylon Edwards had two catches for 47 yards.

For the Chicago Bears, rookie Kyle Orton connected with Muhsin Muhammad for a 47-yard completion on the first play of the game. He ended up 2 of 4 with 60 yards but threw one interception. Third string quarterback Kurt Kittner added a 45-yard touchdown strike to Mark Bradley in the fourth quarter. He was 6 of 7 for 82 yards and the one touchdown.
