The St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs held out most of their starters as the Rams edged the Chiefs 27-23.

While veterans Like Marc Bulger and Torry Holt took the night off, second year running back Steven Jackson was inserted into the lineup briefly. He rushed for 9 yards on 4 carries. Adam Archuleta and the rest of the defensive starters played sparingly but Archuleta managed to snag an interception.

Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson both got a handful of snaps early on. They combined for 34 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Trent Green had minor leg surgery earlier this week, so he did not suit up. Newly acquired CB Patrick Surtain pulled down an interception. He was acquired from the Miami Dolphins earlier this year.
