The Denver Broncos benched most of their starters but still managed to beat the Arizona Cardinals 30-21.

Guys like Jake Plummer and Mike Anderson sat on the sidelines and watched the backups play fairly well. Backup QB Bradlee Van Pelt had an outstanding night. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on 16 of 26 passing. Receiver Darius Watts caught two of Van Pelt's touchdown passes.

The Arizona Cardinals did play their starters, but only sparingly. Kurt Warner was 4 of 7 for 66 yards and one touchdown. The two starting running backs who are battling for a starting spot had relatively uneventful nights. Marcel Shipp had 21 yards on six carries. J.J. Arrington had seven yards on five carries.
