Three free agents given one-year suspensions

The NFL doled out yearlong suspensions to three free agents Thursday, all for violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.

Former Titans LB Rob Reynolds, ex-Buccaneers RB Lionel Gates and former Chiefs OL Chris Terry all got hit with the suspensions, but Reynolds says he is retiring.

Commentary: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is saying no stone will be left unturned in pursuit of policy violators. None of the three who got suspended had anything of a storied NFL career up until the point of their suspensions, but a failed test is a failed test.
