Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, who gained 119 yards and scored a touchdown in Sunday's win over the New York Jets, turned himself in to police on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a bar over the weekend.

According to police reports, Johnson's girlfriend entered the bar early Saturday and spotted Johnson with another woman, and an altercation ensued. Johnson allegedly became irate over being confronted and grabbed his girlfriend by the shoulders and shoved her to the floor.

Larry Johnson received probation two years ago after pleading guilty to a domestic battery charge for brandishing a firearm at a different woman. He was forced to enter a diversion program as part of his plea deal.

Also, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Torrie Cox was arrested and jailed early Tuesday on a charge of driving under the influence, his second such arrest in the past nine months.

Cox, who is also Tampa Bay's kick return specialist, was pulled over on the Dale Mabry Highway at about 3 a.m. and arrested after refusing to take a blood alcohol test. He was released around noontime after posting $500 bond.

Last December, Cox was also arrested on DUI charges, which were reduced to reckless driving in a plea deal. Cox not only faces criminal charges, but if convicted again, faces discipline from the NFL for violating the league's off-the-field conduct rules.
