The San Diego Chargers will head to Invesco Field to face the Denver Broncos in this AFC West showdown as both teams try to avoid starting the season 0-2. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 pm ET.

The San Diego Chargers are coming off a disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys in which their defense couldn't do much to stop the Dallas passing game. The entire unit will have to step up this week to prevent Denver QB Jake Plummer from having a big game. Drew Brees and the rest of the offense will be happy to have TE Antonio Gates back in the lineup. Gates served a one-game suspension as a result of his preseason holdout. LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown last week, and will be looking to pad those numbers against a Denver defense that gave up 151 rushing yards to Miami.

The Denver Broncos fell well short of preseason expectations in their 34-10 loss against the Dolphins. Although Plummer threw for 251 yards last week, he was ineffective for most of the game. In fact, 168 of his passing yards came in the fourth quarter after the Dolphins had all but put the game away. Running back Mike Anderson and cornerback Champ Bailey left last week's game early due to injuries. Both are listed as questionable against the Chargers.
