Former St. Louis Rams and current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner came up short in his attempt to beat his former team, 22-17. Warner was 29-of-47 passing for 327 yards and had a chance to lead his new club to victory on Sunday but ran out of time.

Down by five points with 42 seconds left, Warner completed a 27-yard pass to wide receiver Anquan Boldin to move the Cardinals down to the Rams 16-yard line. But, after a sack by Rams safety Adam Archuletta, he attempted to get his team lined up to spike the ball.

But before he could get the snap off, the offensive line moved and caused a false start. Since there was only :07 left and Arizona was penalized by having ten seconds taken off the clock, the penalty essentially ended the game.

Warner's replacement in St. Louis, Marc Bulger, went 18-of-29 passing for 216 yards with a touchdown and an interception to pace the Rams. Running back Stephen Jackson gained 93 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown for the winners.

Despite driving into Rams territory on numerous occasions, the Cardinals could not get the ball into the end zone and had to settle for four Neil Rackers field goals.
