After being held scoreless by the Dallas Cowboys defense for over 56 minutes, newly promoted quarterback Mark Brunell and wide receiver Santana Moss hooked up twice in the final 3:46 of the game to give the Redskins a 14-13 win on Monday night.

Washington hadn't won in Dallas in nearly a decade, and had lost 14 of the last 15 meetings between the two sides. Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs, who has three Super Bowl titles to his credit, called the comeback one of his greatest sports moments.

The Dallas Cowboys seemingly had the game in the bag against a Redskins offense that had not moved the ball much all night, and had yet to score a touchdown this season. But suddenly, Brunell got going, hitting Moss on a deep 39-yard score.

After Washington's defense forced the Cowboys to punt, Brunell once again found Moss, who split two defenders and scampered 70 yards for the eventual game winning score. Dallas got the ball back and had a chance after rookie Tyson Thompson returned the Redskins kickoff to midfield. However, Washington stopped them on a fourth and four to seal the win.

Brunell, who replaced Patrick Ramsey in the opener, finished 20-of-34 passing 291 yards. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe went 21-of-36 for 261 and a touchdown. The Washington Redskins remain unbeaten at 2-0, while Dallas falls to 1-1.
