The Green Bay Packers were still looking for their first win when they traveled to Carolina to face the Panthers on Monday Night. They would end up dropping to 0-4 after losing 32-29. It was another close loss, losing by only three, but the Carolina Panthers didn't give the Packers the lead the entire game. The Panthers were up 23-7 at halftime, but allowed Brett Favre and the Packers to pull within 3 in the fourth quarter. Green Bay had one final drive with under two minutes remaining in the game, but an incompletion to Donald Driver on fourth and short sealed the deal for Carolina.

After Kindal Moorehead recovered a fumble on the first Green Bay possession, quarterback Jake Delhomme would start the game with a 2 yard touchdown pass to Kris Mangum. Delhomme was 17 of 24 for 206 yards and another touchdown pass. Stephen Davis carried the ball 19 times for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns. DeShaun Foster had 9 carries for 38 yards and a big catch for 47 yards. Keary Colbert, who had only 2 catches so far this season, caught the ball 4 times for a total of 52 yards. The Carolina Defense forced a fumble and had 1 interception by Ken Lucas.

The Green Bay Packers came out and tied the game in the first quarter with a 21 yard Brett Favre touchdown pass to David Martin. They would end up going scoreless in the second quarter. Brett Favre was 28 of 47 for 303 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception. 2 of those touchdown passes came in the fourth quarter as the Packers tried to mount a comeback. Donald Driver, Donald Lee, and Antonio Chatman all had touchdown receptions.

The Green Bay Defense prevented Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith from doing anything in this game. He was held to 2 catches for only 12 yards and no touchdowns compared to his 3 touchdown game last week in a losing effort to Miami.

The Packers drop to 0-4 which is their worst start in 17 years.
