Roger Goodell conditionally re-instates Michael Vick to the NFL and that's supposed to be okay? He can't play until the sixth week of the season and that's supposed to be okay? I'm not a MIchael Vick fan per se, but fair is fair. The man paid his debt to society and should be allowed to go about his business and earn a living. It is one thing if no teams want him, but we all know someone would be willing to take a chance ata guy who rushed for over 1,000 yards as a Quarterback and led the lowly Atlanta Falcons to the NFC Championship Game.

Terrell Owens had the testicular fortitude to say what he felt about the Vick situation. He deserves to be let back in. Owens also blasted Goodell by saying he should feel what it is like to be in prison for 23 months. Personally, I wouldn't want anyone to have to do jail time, but the point being made hit home. Mr. Goodell has way too much stroke being judge, jury, and executioner for guys who have careers that average three and a half years. There's only so much money and time these guys have and to curtail a quarter of a season for a guy who just lost two, is just plain stupid in my opinion.
Those who think he shouldn't be let back in the league are the same people who would be begging for a second chance if they got into a pickle. That includes the PETA folks, who should all go get a life. I'm not an animal lover. I don't have pets and don't want any. Frankly, the idea that Vick was dogfighting doesn't really bother me in the least (just being honest). I'd never do it but I'm not outraged like some of the sanctimonious louts I heard on television and radio about the subject. We use animals for testing for the betterment of Mankind. They keep us warm and feed us. That's about the only use I really have for them.

I digress. The bottom line is Mister Vick should be allowed to resume his career. The NFL Players Association needs to fight for some arbitration group to settle differences with the almighty Commissioner. He shouldn't be allowed to just make rulings with no checks what so ever. History has proven that dictatorships are never a good thing. Want proof? There's never been one in the White House has there (though Dubya tried).
