It's one thing to say I'm done, I'm calling it quits and ride off into the sunset, it's another thing to say I'm playing, but I need two months to decide If my arm feels good enough to try it. Brett Favre had held the Vikings, and the city of Minneapolis hostage for the last few months as he ponder about should he play or not. My dad always told me "Son, don't make promises you can't keep, a man's word can turn to fool's gold If you back away from your word." I believe that's what happened to Brett Favre, his word has always been golden until he announce his retirement the first time saying goodbye to the packers, only to change his mind, and wanting to play for the packers again. There he held Green Bay hostage before the team traded him to the Jets, but that's not quite where Favre wanted to go.

On Sporting News Radio, Antionne Freeman who played with Brett Favre in Green Bay on the super bowl team that beat the Patriots in New Orleans in 1997 said that "No one will remember Brett Favre playing for the New York Jets last year." Well the only problem is there are some fans that do remember some Hall of Famers play somewhere where you just scratch your head and like What? Joe Montana, his last team wasn't with the 49ers, it was with Kansas City Chiefs. Same is true with Marcus Allen who didn't retire as a raider, but as a chief instead. Joe Namath last team wasn't the Jets, but with the Los Angeles Rams. Remember Franco Harris, the burly running back from the Pittsburgh Steelers, his last team was with the Seahawks, and as a pure NFL fan like me, Brett Favre played for the Jets last year, and the reason I still remember it is because I still have a few brain cells left in my brain.

I do believe unless he becomes Roger Clemens of the NFL, I have no doubt that in 2013 or 2014 Brett Favre will be standing outside of Canton Ohio and be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Yes I wish he could have won one more Super Bowl and have a proper sendoff, but instead we can only wonder is this the final chapter in Brett Favre's career?
