The Green Bay Packers avoided their first 0-5 start since 1988 in a big way, as quarterback Brett Favre threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Packers to a 52-3 rout over the New Orleans Saints.

With the NFC North looking like the weakest division in the NFL, this win also puts the injury riddled Packers right back in the race for the division title. Running back Najeh Davenport filled in admirably for Ahman Green, who was inactive due to a knee injury suffered this past Monday night against Carolina, with 54 yards on 12 carries and two scoring runs.

The New Orleans Saints turned the ball over five times, as Aaron Brooks was intercepted twice by Packers cornerback Al Harris. He returned one of those for a 22-yard touchdown to put the Green Bay Packers up 14-3 in the first quarter. Brooks finished 9-of-22 for 146 yards before being replaced by backup Todd Bouman. He didn't fare much better, as Nick Barnett intercepted him, and returned the ball 95 yards for a touchdown late in the game.

Saints star running back Deuce McAllister only carried the ball 11 times for 31 yards, before leaving the game in the third quarter with a knee sprain.
