Free Picks for NFL Week 5

It’s time to give you some free picks for Week 5. Not every game is listed, just what I think are some of the best bets. These free picks are against the most current point spreads as of Thursday evening.
The best bet is the first team listed; home team is in CAPS.

Another decent week for my free picks last week, hopefully I can keep the hot hand. Yikes, some crappy looking games this week, so we’ll keep it short and sweet. Let’s get right to the Week 5 Free NFL Picks and Best Bets:

Vikings -10 at ST. LOUIS
Minnesota is rolling and the Rams are rolling over. Give the points.

SAN FRANCISO -2.5 vs. Atlanta
I think the 49ers are very much for real. While the Falcons are pretty good and coming off a bye, I like a good home team giving less than a field goal. So far Atlanta has beaten Miami and Buffalo (and lost at New England). We really don’t know for sure if Atlanta is as great as we all assume. The Niners are good and should win by 3 or more.

Texans at Arizona OVER 49 points
Houston got in a high-scoring shootout in Tennesse of all places, and we know the Cards can score in bunches too. It’s a high number but I think a 31-20 or 28-24 game is easily within reach. Take the Over.

DENVER +3.5 vs. New England
For the second week in a row the Broncos are still undefeated and yet underdogs at home. Sure the Patriots are pretty good, and just came off a nice win against a very good Ravens team. But playing Baltimore can beat a team up, and then they turnaround and have to play in a tough place on the road against a good team ready to play the “Nobody believes in us!” card. Take the points.

Colts -3.5 at TENNESSEE
At 0-4, the Titans are the surprise dissappointing team. Every week we still think they’re as good as they were last year and every week they lose again. They were flat-out embarassed in Jacksonville against an average Jags team. Peyton Manning, night game on TV. Give the points.

The NFC East Blowout Teaser
The NY Giants and Philadelphia Eagles should easily crush the Raiders and Bucs, respectively, and could even cover the big 15 point spreads. But just to be safe, let’s tease them both down to 9 for the easy money.

Jets -2 at MIAMI
I’m usually not a fan of giving points on the road on Monday Night Football. But the New York Jets are good, and their defense is very good. New Dolphins QB Chad Henne got a big win last week, but it was against the Bills. This aint the Bills. Give the points.

That’s it for this week’s free picks and best bets. As always, try to avoid that annoying dancing robot guy on Fox, and enjoy the games.
