The Best Games:

Pittsburgh Steelers 24 at San Diego Chargers 22

The Monday Night game was a great one, with the Steelers edging the Chargers in the dying seconds. However, the real story of this game is the status of Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, who went down late in the game after taking a helmet to the knee. Both teams played good enough to win, but the Steelers ended up on top. Roethlisberger may somehow end up suiting up on Sunday.

New England Patriots 31 at Atlanta Falcons 28

Tom Brady pulled out a last minute win with the banged up Patriots squad, as usual. It took longer than it should have though, as the Patriots blew multiple leads throughout the game, before Adam Vinatieri's field goal to win it. Atlanta played surprisingly well as they were without QB Michael Vick.

Seattle Seahawks 37 at St. Louis Rams 31

St. Louis is 40-9 at home since 1999, so the Seahawks beating them at home is even more impressive. Joe Jurevicius had one of the best games of his career just hours after driving past the hospital where his son died of a neurodegenerative disease in 2003. The Seahawks finally snapped their four game losing streak against the Rams, and took away the Rams mental edge.

Washington Redskins 19 at Denver Broncos 21

Denver won despite their offense doing almost nothing. Late in the game, rain pouring down, the Redskins were down by eight. With 1:09 to go, Mark Brunell threw an eleven yard touchdown pass to Chris Cooley, setting up the stage for a two point conversion. However a third straight miracle was not to be, as Broncos linebacker Ian Gold knocked down the pass, and won the game.

Cincinnati Bengals 20 at Jacksonville Jaguars 23

Byron Leftwich threw for two touchdowns and the Jags defense held on at the end to hold onto a needed win against the powerful Bengals. With only 1:28 to play, the Bengals were moving towards Jacksonville's end zone, but the Jaguars forced and recovered a fumble, allowing them to run out the clock. The loss leaves Indianapolis as the only unbeaten team in the NFL.

The Worst Games:

Philadelphia Eagles 10 at Dallas Cowboys 33

I'd be very concerned if I was an Eagles fan, for the past two weeks they've been dominated in the first half, and unlike last week, this week they couldn't come back. They've got to play better, and they've got to run the ball if they want to get some wins.

Indianapolis Colts 28 at San Francisco 49ers 3

Peyton Manning gave rookie Alex Smith some advice following the game: Keep working hard, and don't get discouraged. Good advice, but Alex Smith is going to need a solid supporting cast around him before he can get some wins under his belt.

New Orleans Saints 3 at Green Bay Packers 52

Green Bay made New Orleans look like a college team. The Packers annihilated the Saints without four offensive starters, making this Green Bay's most lopsided win since October 23, 1966 when they defeated Atlanta 56-3.

The Rest:

Baltimore Ravens 17 at Detroit Lions 35

Detroit capitalized on all of the Ravens misfortunes, and there were a lot of them. They had 21 penalties (one short of the NFL record) and two ejections, not to mention numerous turnovers. Detroit scored two first quarter touchdowns, and led the rest of the way for an easy win.

Carolina Panthers 24 at Arizona Cardinals 20
It took a 94 yard touchdown drive, but the Panthers did it, and pulled above .500 for the first time this season. Arizona QB Josh McCown threw for 394 yards against the "tough" Carolina defense, but it wasn't enough for the win.

Chicago Bears 10 at Cleveland Browns 20

Browns QB Trent Dilfer joked that he only made two good throws, but two was all he needed to lead the Browns to their second victory of the season. Chicago continues to fade away, although in the NFC North a team with six wins might be able to make the playoffs.

Miami Dolphins 14 at Buffalo Bills 20

Miami played their worst game of the season. However, the Dolphins had a chance at the end, until a Ronnie Brown fumble put the game away for good. Kelly Holcomb looked like an upgrade at the quarterback position for the Bills.

Tennessee Titans 34 at Houston Texans 20

Congratulations go out to Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher on his 100th win, although it was pretty much expected against the winless Texans. The Titans will need a few more wins against quality opponents to remain in the AFC playoff picture.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12 at New York Jets 14

The Buccaneers struggled without Carnell ‘Cadillac' Williams. The Jets capitalized, beating the weakened Bucs team by two, after Testaverde came from the couch to the playing field.
