The NFC East is yet again proving to be one of the hardly fought divisions. With the top dog stubbing their toe, the door has opened for the Cowboys and Eagles who clash this week for midseason division supremacy. Whoever can have the best next 3 weeks will set themselve up well for January.

The Philadelphia Eagles have surged their way into first place in the NFC East on the HUGE play ability of DeSean Jackson. The second year player out of Cal has already scored 6 touchdowns of 50 yards or more. With a healthy McNabb and Westbrook expected to return look for the Linc to be rocking when Dallas comes to town. Their only concern is getting Assante Samuel some help in the secondary. Overall grade: C

America's Team is playing the best football they've played since Team Obliterator was out wide. Marion Barber is an absolute beast. Keith Brooking is taking charge of the defense, the O-Line is healthy and Tony Romo is protecting the football. And I cannot mention Romo without mentioning his newest deep threat. The Smiles Austin era has begun in Dallas. Miles Austin is making Tony Romo a better quarterback, providing a sure down the field target on any down. Now that he has taken over the starting spot from Patrick Crayton, Austin will be able to mature and become even more dangerous. If they can keep it up Austin and the fans will smiling their ways to the playoffs. Overall grade: B+

Moving on to the most recent train wreck of the league, the Giants. Eli Manning is taking a few steps back in his play and Brandon Jacobs is playing hesitantly between the tackles. The New York defense was among the top in the league but the Eagles torched them for 40 points. They looked like a high school football team on defense last week. Like the Panthers, the Giants have tremendous talent and upside. Still a very dangerous team. Overall grade: C+

It is hard to find something good to say about the scene in our nation's capital. Head coach Jim Zorn isn't calling any plays and they are still struggling. The biggest (literally, the biggest at 350 pounds) bust of this first half of the season is their $100 million man up front has been worth less than 1% of that. Clinton Portis should be dressing up like a football player for press conferences instead of some other character. Jason Campell is not, nor was he ever, the answer at quarterback for this team. I cant quite put them in the same category as the Buccaneers, but we'll see where that opinion stands over the next few weeks. Overall grade: F
