Tennessee at Houston OVER 48
Tonight’s MNF game is a tough one to pick against the point spread. The Texans are favored by 4.5 over a Titans team that’s 3-0 and frisky since Vince Young took over at QB and RB Chris Johnson continues to be otherworldly. I think Houston at home on a Monday night, with a chance to go 6-4 and stay in playoff contention, could be hyped enough to beat the franchise that once left Houston. But I’m not sure I trust them to cover that spread. The Texans defense is ok, but they can be gashed for big runs, so Johnson and Young should be able to match whatever points Matt Schaub and the Texans can throw up on the Titans suspect secondary. So I think betting the total to go OVER 48 is the smart play here. The last time they played it was a 34-31 game, and 4 out of the last 5 games in this series (and 5 of the 7 played in Houston) have gone over the total. I also like a teaser: Titans teased up to +10.5 with the Over teased down to 42. But the free MNF pick for this week is OVER 48. Good luck.
