Yesterday hearing the news that Chris Henry was in a serious accident after falling off the back of the truck got me saying a slient prayer for his speedy recovery; Hearing on the radio about 2 hrs of Chris Henry passing away has got me in a slient prayer for his family, friends, and the Bengals organization. This man was trying to make the best of his second chance with the Cincinnati Bengals, and was doing very well until he fracture his forearm which required season ending surgery. Maybe If he hadn't broke his forearm he would still be alive today, but you can't go back in time and change history, or ask the "What If!"
I know that Chris Henry was no saint, and that he had trouble with the law, but Marvin Lewis and the Bengals organzation were willing to gamble, and give this man another chance to be with the Bengals. He was a talented wide receiver on the verge of getting married, and having a wonderful life ahead. He was on the right path, but this tragic accident closed the book too shortly for this young man who had alot to look forward to.
Now myself I had some personal demons for the last 8 months when I was a victim of an armed robbery by four teenagers: One kid who wasn't there, another one pretending to be a customer, and the other two in ski mask and bandana hiding their face like cowards in the night. My demons is do I forgive these boys for what they did to me, and give them a second chance? I want them punish to teach them a lesson, but not harshly like be buried underneath the jail.
Now I know some critcal critcs are going to ask me "What the hell does this have to do with Chris Henry?" Well I'm glad you ask; Chris Henry troubles with the law had the organzation, and Marvin Lewis debating should they give him another chance? They did, but I think Chris was on a short leash knowing that If he screws up one more time, he's gone. I'm sure before Chris's tragic passing he was very thankful for that second chance, and he made the best of it. Now it's time to honor him.
For the Bengals, this hole in their heart can only be fulfill by beating San Diego this sunday(Maybe it'll be on NBC Sunday Night Football), make the playoffs, and go all the way to the Super Bowl winning it for Chris Henry. In Memory of Chris Henry, I bow in a moment of silence, kiss my fist, and point upward in heaven to you. May you rest in peace!
