Last week's wild card round was almost a snorefest until the Packers/Cardinals game saved it from being boring, even after the Cardinals was up 31-10 at halftime. Too bad the overtime ended the way it did when Aaron Rogers was nailed pretty hard, and lost the football for a cardinal recovery for a touchdown. Now with the next round approach I'll tell you whom I think will win, and why.
First off the Cardinals/Saints game at 4 on Fox; The Saints have lost their last 3 games, and need to wake the hell up. It's one thing to lose a heartbreaker to the Cowboys by a touchdown on Saturday which was a big turning point for the cowboys. Also they blew a 17 point lead to the Buccaners, and lose n OT 20-17. They laid a big egg in Charoltte against the Panthers, so how do they stop the bleeding? Well they have to go after Kurt Warner big time, and stop the ground game as well as the passing game. If they can stop this bleeding, then they can win this game, and host the NFC title which would be great for the citizens of New Orleans after what they went through 5 yrs ago. Unfortunately that's not whom I will pick to win this game; I pick the Cardinals because of previous playoff experiences, this being Kurt Warner's final season(I thought he sign to a 2 year deal with the Cardinals), and they look great against the Packers. Final Score Cardinals 27 Saints 21.
Ravens/Colts at 8 on CBS; Patriots were off they game, but the only reason why the Ravens advance was they scored on defense. Having said that the Colts will capitalize on the passing game, as well as the ground game, and give the Ravens a big send off. Final Score Colts 31 Ravens 14.
Cowboys/Vikings 1 on Fox; Good news for the old fart Brett Favre, the playoffs will be played indoors so he should be just fine. However the Cowboys were awesome against the Eagles playing in their first second round playoff game since 1996. This will be a toss up, but the one thing I'm looking at is that Brett Favre has never beaten the Cowboys in his career. That will change this sunday; Final score Vikings 27 Cowboys 20.
Jets/Chargers 4 on CBS; Love the fairy tale story how the Jets backdoor themself into the playoffs thanks to the Colts and Bengals resting their starters. However as I said in my previous article, the Chargers are on fire, and the Jets will crash and burn in San Diego. Final Score Chargers 38 Jets 17.
These are my playoff predictions, hope I'm right, talk to you next week.
