It’s time to give you some free NFL picks against the spread for the 2nd round of the NFL playoffs. These free picks are listed in the order they'll be played and of course are what I think are some of the best bets. These free picks are against the most current point spreads as of Friday afternoon.

Try not to overvalue the teams that looked good last weekend or put too much stock in who’s playing at home when picking NFL playoff games against the spread. Should be some good games so let’s get right to the free picks.

Saints -7 vs. Cardinals
I realize New Orleans has some flaws, might be overrated, has inflated point spreads, and hasn't been a consistent cover the 2nd half of the season. BUT, does Kurt Warner play lights out twice in a row? This is one of the few places in the league that still has a legit home-field advantage and they will be jacked up. Perhaps Drew Brees shreds that defense and Warner gets over confident (or desperate) and throws a pick 6 and the Saints roll. It seems a lot of peeps are all hyped up on the Cards (and Jets) thinking the worlds is "sleeping on them" etc and that it's a no-brainer to take those teams to at least cover. But I think both SD (and NO) will be VERY focused in regards to this week's opponents as well as the goal of the Super Bowl. These guys have dreamed of this their whole life, you think they're gonna "come out flat" or overlook an opponent just cuz they had a bit of time to rest? I dont think so. Arizona is good and this game should be reasonably competitive, but the Saints will win by about 10 or more. Give the points.

Baltimore at Indianapolis: OVER 43.5
I'm back and forth on this game as far as who will win and/or cover the point spread. I could certainly see the Colts covering.... but Baltimore is so tough and feisty and that strong run game should have success against the colts run D. So perhaps the best bet is to lay off and just take the OVER. The last Colts-Ravens game earlier this year stayed Under the total, but I think this one goes over 43.5. Indy can be run on, and Baltimore can be thrown on. So Peyton Manning will get his against that secondary and I think Rice & Flacco should be able to score just enough to help Peyton push it over.

The Teaser: Dallas +8.5 / Over 39.5
I think Childress/Farve crap the bed and are one and done. But I dont trust Wade/Romo enough to wager on them. So I’ll tease Dallas up to 8.5 with the Over down to 39.5.

San Diego -7.5 vs. NY Jets
The Jets are the hot darlings so far and I could certainly see them keeping it close against SD. Refer back to the Saints/Cards pick for more thoughts on this game. As solid as the Jets are in some aspects, I could still see this as the blowout smackdown of the weekend. Chargers roll, give the points.

Last week: 1-3
Season: 66-51-2
