It’s time to give you some free NFL picks against the spread for the Conference Championships. These free picks for the AFC and NFC are what I think are some of the best bets. These free picks are against the most current point spreads as of Friday afternoon.

Well well well, here we are. It's kinda bittersweet. This is my favorite Sunday of the year: the Conference Championships. A double-header of games to determine who goes to the Super Bowl. Sure, I love the Super Bowl, it's my favorite holiday, but this is really the last Sunday that's all about football with no distractions of parties and over-hyped commercials.

Should be some good games, so lets get right to the free picks against the point spread.

Indianapolis -7.5 vs. NY Jets
I shouldn’t keep naysaying the Jets, they're obviously solid. But even the Ravens couldn't run on Indy and a THIRD consecutive playoff road win for rookie QB Mark Sanchez? I don’t think so. Still a tough call to give more than 7 points to this Jets team, but I think the Colts might win handily. I can see the public falling in love with the Jets plus the points and then Vegas taking their money when Indy takes 'em to the woodshed. Midnight strikes on this Cinderella Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis. Colts 28, Jets 10

Saints-Vikings OVER 53
This game is tougher to figure out. The Vikings looked great last week, but Dallas and Minnesota are both good teams that struggle on the road. Maybe the Vikes come back to earth this week. I’d say a lot of people saw an impressive-looking Vikings team beat a Dallas team that the public has always loved to bet on. So between that and the Favre factor, I can see plenty of people thinking that Minnesota +4 is a steal. And it might be. I still like the Saints in this game, but I’m concerned it's cuz I really want Favre to lose and I think it would be great for New Orleans so that's my rooting interest. But you shouldn’t bet on what you WANT to happen, bet on what you think WILL happen. I really want the Saints to win, I think they will.... but can certainly see this game being won by the Vikings and/or the Saints winning by only 3 points. Perhaps the safest play on that game would be to bet the Over. While 53 is a lot of points, a relatively normal 30-27 or 31-24 game gets it done. Take the Over. Saints 28, Vikings 27.

Regular Season: 65-48-2
Playoffs: 2-6
