The off-season coaching change in Washington obviously made big news when Mike Shanahan was hired. Shanny and new VP of Football Operations have moved relatively swiftly to round out the rest of the new staff. While there may be a few more additions and tweaks, it looks to be mostly complete. Here it is:

Bruce Allen - Vice President of Football Operations/GM
Mike Shanahan - Executive Vice President/Head Coach

Kyle Shanahan - Offensive Coordinator
Chris Foerster - Offensive Line
Bobby Turner - Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs
Matt LaFleur - Quarterback Coach
Jon Embree - Tight End Coach
Keenan McCardell - Wide Receiver Coach
Sean McVay - Offensive Assistant

Paul Kelly - Assistant to the Head Coach/Football Administration
Richmond Flowers - Coaching Assistant
Larry Hess - Head Athletic Trainer

Jim Haslett - Defensive Coordinator
Jacob Burney - Defensive Line
Bob Slowik - Defensive Backs
Lou Spanos – Linebackers
Kirk Olivadotti - Defensive Assistant
Danny Smith - Special Teams
Steve Jackson - Safeties Coach

You might remember a few weeks ago that I wrote a column advocating former Redskins offensive linemen Russ Grimm for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Well I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was in fact voted in! The official Redskins blog has an interesting article and interview with longtime team beat writer David Elfin regarding how Grimm got in.
