The Dallas Cowboys knocked off the New York Giants 16-13 in overtime Sunday afternoon at Texas Stadium. Dallas' win came despite four turnovers, a pair of missed field goals, and a defensive breakdown that allowed the Giants to tie the game on a touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game.

The Giants and Cowboys took their turns in dragging down the quality of the game. Dallas turned the ball over on three of their first four drives in the game. New York, though, only managed two field goals on the turnovers. At the half, the Giants trailed 7-6.

In the second half, the New York lowered the standards by tossing an interception and fumbling 3 times on their first five possessions in the half. Dallas, returning the first half favor, managed only two field goals off of the turnovers.

The teams came into this week's match up with the two top rated quarterbacks in the NFC in Drew Bledsoe and Eli Manning. Neither quarterback was great, but Manning made a bid to be the hero near the end of regulation. With 52 seconds left and 52 yards to go, the New York Giants' second year quarterback hit Plaxico Burress for a 28 yard completion, then Jeremy Shockey for the game tying 24-yard touchdown that, with the extra point, sent the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Dallas Cowboys won the coin toss. Bledsoe tossed for 10, 13, and 26 yards to start the overtime. Then, an Antonio Pierce pass interference call set up the 45 yard game winning field goal by Jose Cortez.

After last week's confrontation, Keyshawn Johnson and Drew Bledsoe appeared to have made nice in this one. Johnson had 8 catches for 120 yards, which is the most he has had since 2002. Bledsoe had 312 yards and a touchdown on 26-of-37 passing but also had an interception and two lost fumbles.

For the Giants, Eli Manning was 14-of-30 through the air for 215 yards and a touchdown. His streak of 125 pass attempts without an interception was broken, and he lost a fumble in the game. The one bright spot for New York was tight end Jeremy Shockey, who caught five passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.

The Dallas Cowboys go to 4-2 on the season and will travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks next week. The New York Giants fall to 3-2 on the year and will host Denver next week.
