Shaun Alexander rushed for four touchdowns as the Seattle Seahawks kept the Houston Texans winless on the season. Seattle's 42-10 victory improves their record to 4-2 and helps them maintain their lead atop the NFC West. The Texans drop to 0-5 and remain the only team in the NFL without a win.

The Houston Texans came into the game ranked near the bottom of the league in total defense and rushing yards allowed per game. That's not a good combination when facing the potent Seattle Seahawks offense led by Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck. As expected, the Texans had no answer for Alexander. He rushed for 141 yards on 22 carries. Alexander also scored 4 touchdowns for the second time this season.

Because the ground game was so effective, Hasselbeck didn't have to make very many big plays through the air. He completed 14 out of 20 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown. He was also picked off once.

Wide receiver Joe Jurevicius continued to fill in nicely for the injured Darrell Jackson. Jurevicius caught 3 passes for 29 yards and a TD. Peter Warrick also got into the action with 3 receptions for 53 yards, including a long of 27.

Meanwhile, Houston's frustrating season continues, as their offense was unable to do very much against the Seahawks. Quarterback David Carr, who still hasn't had a 200-yard passing game this year, threw for 178 yards and one touchdown. Running back Domanick Davis rushed for just 40 yards on 18 carries. He now has 358 yards in 5 games this year. Davis also had 28 receiving yards, including a 27-yard TD catch in the third quarter for his first score of the season. Wide receiver Jabar Gaffney caught 10 passes for 87 yards for the Texans.
